Autism Spectrum Disorder Aquatics Program

Drowning is the leading causes of death for children with autism. Hawaii Autism Foundation (HAF) wants to ensure children are safe and confident in the water. The Autism Spectrum Disorder Aquatics Program is collaborative courses with community partners Kailua YMCA, YWCA, Dr. Kelle Murphy and her UH Manoa Students as well as the team at Positive Behavior Supports Corporation (PBS). Children with autism learn how to swim under the supervision of skills trainers and professional lifeguards. The cost is $99 per child ($900 Value) with financial aid available. The program is generously funded in part by grants from The Clarence T.C. Ching Foundation and Atherton Family Foundation.
